Rockets D.L.O.

On Friday after technology LS2 had to stay because we were excited to create fun rockets with Mr Dunn. This term we got to make rockets at Tamaki College. When we went into the classroom everyone quickly went into groups before we started anything, Mr Dunn presented a D.L.O on rockets. Now this D.L.O, our group had to come up with a prediction. At the end we had to find out if it supported our prediction in the beginning. It was very fun making our Straw Rocket so when we are learning rockets we know what to do with the learning of Mr Dunn's.

Rocket Collages

Yesterday we were creating a collage from our wonderful time creating our own straw rocket from Friday. We had so excited on Friday by making our straw rockets and trying to fly Mr Dunn's and Miss Ferguson's fantastic orange rocket when we tried Mr Dunn's and Miss Ferguson's rocket it went really high. Ana,Jessie and I worked so collaboratively and finished google slide of our rocket experiment. As you can see on the photos it looked like LS2 had an awesome time at Tamaki College, we would like to say a HUGE Thank you to Mr Dunn & Miss Ferguson for providing the time for us and getting the materials to build our Straw Rocket.

How To Make A Straw Rocket

Created by Ana,Jessie & Cecillia

This is a blog post where it tells you instruction to how to build a Straw Rocket. It will take 6 steps just to build a straw rocket. If you get to make one remember to change some stuff like the length of the straw or the shape and size of the fins. To make this you would need 2 straws, scissors, sellotape and piece of paper with a template of fins. Have fun and it is really great to play with just remember to be careful.

Athletics

Today for athletics it was a raining day but it was really fun. What we had to do was to get split into 3 groups in My group was Pote,Mere,Sebastian,Jessie,Jane and Tiare. The first activity was called "Rob the nest" rob the nest is when your in groups and you have balls or pin bags every where also a bucket. When they say "GO!" your team has to try and work has a team and grab the balls and bin bags when all of it is gone then you go to the other team and grab there one has fast as you could. After that our next activity was called "Sponge Relay" Its when you go around the cone and then grab the sponge in the bucket, jump over 2 poles and then rince your sponge with the bucket of water then you come back and SQUEEZE the water into your bucket and remember to take turns also we showed team work also we collaborative well. Next activity was long jump, that was cool but the grass was very slippery. We went onto shot put now that was fun, we showed leadership to the younger students also showing respect to the Tamaki College students and supporting the other teams. Our last Activity was that we had to chuck the hoop and we had to get points the bucket - 1 point, wicket - 2 points and the long stick - 5 points. We would like to thank Tamaki College for helping us also Mr Ogilvie for providing the athletics activity.
