For the Winter Learning Journey We all got certificates it was an awesome time doing the Winter Learning Journey and also learning new things about Olympics. The topic for the Winter Learning Journey was Olympic What I learned from one of them was that in the ancient Olympic game the People that won a game was called Olympionic. Congratulations to Daniel who came 3rd, Nesi who came 2nd and Aj who came 1st and to those who participated in the Winter Learning Journey. Point England School - Blog Commenting

So what we had to do was that we had to comment on other school's blogs. The school that we done was Point England School. I commented on three talented people there names are Lorenzo,Heather and Jonathan. What I like about these three people is that I learned things that I never knew before but I had fun commenting on Point England School.

Buddy Reading With Room 3&4

So What we done here was that we had to help the little kid read. My reading buddy had a lot of fun reading together, the book that she picked was "Spider vs Mysterio" It was a cool book. I asked her "Who's  her Favorite character in the book" She said "Spiderman" What I like about buddy reading with the little kids is that we learn them how to read or how to say this or that word because when we were there age we would be shy reading in front of the older kids and then when we get older we should know how to read. 

HIt The Button - Maths

For maths we have been playing this game. It is called 'Hit the Button' it has Number bonds,Doubles,Halves,Times tables,Division Facts and Square numbers. This a great game because there is everything that you need to learn even your times table because in maths you need to learn your times table and so if you play this game it will give maths questions and you have to answer. What I like about this game is that I learn new things like times table.

Advertisements

Advertising the art of convincing people to get them to buy something. Persuasive Language features and memorable images help make you think like they do . 

Today we had get into groups of three or four. In our group was Thomas,Victoria,Evelyn and I. What we had to do was to find a paper and one person had to write all the words that was on the piece of paper and so Evelyn,Victoria and I took turns saying what was on the piece of paper. On the piece of paper it had the meaning of Advertising. It was cool because Victoria,Evelyn,Thomas and I worked has team and came tied with Micaiah's group.

Attributing Images

Today we learned how to attribute images. So we were look up Olympic images like the olympic rings,Rio 16 Logo,Torch and also the Mascot for 2016. So what I had to do was to go on images first then go on search tool after you will see useage right then click on that and then click on Labeled for reuse. When you finished that click on the photo that you want to use when you finish you'll see on the picture 'visit page' click that, copy the link to it and also find the licence it will say 'CC BY 2.0'

It was cool doing attributing images because I learned one thing was that I have been using any images but I didn't know that you have to use the 'Labeled for reuse' because I thought that we are allowed to take any photos but that means that we are disrespecting the people that have created this and worked so hard but if we are using the 'Labeled for reuse' then that means we are using the images right.

It had me thinking

When I get on the plane Expectations just come to me.

But I know that I will nail it.

So what I had to do here was that I had to imagine that I am in TVNZ and I was paid to go to Rio de Janeiro to attend the Olympics games and report the golf or the rugby competitions. So I had to write how I feel and would I be excited? No because I will be my first time traveling and reporting on the golf and rugby, but at the same time proud of myself because I've come all the way from New Zealand to the Olympics.

Valerie Adams - Winter Learning Journey

So what i had to do here was pick out of he 76 people in New Zealand that is going to the Rio Olympic 2016 also the sport that they play and 3 facts about them. So I chose Valerie Adams because she has strength in her and also supporting New Zealand.

3 Facts About Valerie Adams

1. She won her first World Youth Champion gold medal at the age of 17.

2.She grew up with 17 siblings.

3. She is one of New Zealand's most powerful shot putter.

Be The Inspiration - Winter Learning Journey

Be the Inspiration 

The video of 'Be the Inspiration' was a creative and exciting video. Why? because there were different sports and also it looks like they have been practising in different areas. So when they practice it feels like they are practising at the Rio Olympic. In New Zealand it would take many practices to be in the Rio Olympic and compete others, The key to being in the Rio Olympic is By PRACTISE,PRACTICE,PRACTICE! What I got from the video was "It gives us the freedom to think,move and adapt" Because when you're angry,sad or happy at someone then you could play a sport to shake all your emotions off so when you go to school you could forgive the person who made you  angry,sad or happy. But I also thought the video could've been better if they put my favourite sport in the olympic games that is Netball.

    

I rate this video has a 5 because I like to play sport and I loved it because they were so creative with the video that they produce for the Rio Olympic 2016. Also the title "Be the Inspiration" because when we grow up the young ones need a role model and someone to look up to when they grow and grow.

Eddie The Eagle - Winter Learning Journey

Today I had to watch a movie called 'Eddie The Eagle' And so this movie is about when a young kid tries all the Olympic sports. And so everytime he tries he fails but he kept trying but his parents believe that he would ever be a Olympic player. But Robert Downey Jr. comes in the movie because he plays has Hugh Jackman who use to play winter skiing. And so they work has a team when Eddie practises then he will always hurt himself and so he kept doing that he went to hospital and then he woke up. So he NEVER GAVE UP and kept practicing.

Go Home Stay Home - Winter Learning Journey

So what I had to do is that I had to make up a game. So my game is called Go Home Stay Home and Go Home Stay Home is kind of like netball because one of the rule is to not run with ball and so this game is fun to play you could even verse your friends or family.

The Paralympic Games - Winter Learning Journey

So what I had to do here is that I had to continue the sentences so what my story is about is that a girl name Cecillia gets called from the spectator and that she gets a 3 pointer to see the silver ferns and so she got it in. Next day she tells her friends Victoria,Ana and Mere. Then Maria Tutaia tells them "When you play netball the there are going to be ups and downs but just believe that you're going to FINISH"

Para-cycling team in New Zealand - Winter Learning Journey

What I had to do is pick one partner who will bike with me. I picked my sister, Luisa because she likes to be competitive and always wants to be me in everything her and I do. Like she will go to my game and support me and give me advice also the same I do to her. That's why I pick her because we can work as a team to get a gold medal but if we don't then we will keep trying and never give up.

Raising Funds Paralympic athletes - Winter Learning Journey

So today I have to come up with 2 ways to raise funds for Paralympic athletes, 1. Do a BBQ with Family or Friends and get money by selling sausage rolls or lemonade drinks for 50c and can do it for a week. 2. Do a bake sale and do it in the public,community or church for $2.00 each. For me I've done selling chocolates and get money. This is all to support the Paralympic athletes.

Inspiration - Winter Learning Journey

This is my 2 uncles there names are Charles Piutau and Siale Piutau. They Inspire my family and I, Why they inspire me? Because they are Tongans that are travelling around the world and experience new things like rugby teams. They both played in the Wasps team and they worked together. They have been a great inspiration to me because they have followed their dreams and they still are. What I like about both of them is that they NEVER GIVE UP. Also they come from New Zealand and look now Siale Piutau is in Japan with his beautiful family. Also Charles Piutau is in Ireland playing for is new team the Ulsters and having fun.

Marjorie Gestring - Winter Learning Journey

This is Marjorie Gestring she was the youngest person who won a gold medal in the Olympics. If I met her I would be so surprise because she youngest girl who got a gold medal. I would ask her lots of questions but only 5 questions. My questions 1. How does it feel like being the young girl to get a gold medal? 2.What did it make you feel to go to the Olympics? 3.For your age how does it feel? 4.How did you know that your going to join the Olympics? 5. Do you feel proud of yourselves? And then I will just be so proud of her because it means that young children like Marjorie Gestring can get a gold medal for what they learn and what they want to do in there lives.

New Zealand - Winter Learning Journey

So what I had to is pick out of these 3 and I picked Andrea Kilday. Why I picked her? because I want to learn taekwondo also what I learned about her was that she got gold medals in all sporting events held in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea in July 2016. What I want to ask Andrea Kilday is How do you fill when you're competing other people from other countries. Also What I like about Andrea Kilday that she keeps going with taekwondo and looks after her 2 boys.

Best New Zealander - Winter Learning Journey

Richie McCaw (rugby player), Lorde (singer), Kane Williamson (cricket player), Maria Tutaia (netball player), John Key (prime minister of New Zealand) or Shaun Johnson (league player). What I had to do here was to pick out the best person. My best person is Maria Tutaia because I like the way she plays netball also I played netball when I was 6 years old and now I'm still playing for My school Panmure Bridge School. I am improving how I play and meeting new friends.

Ranking The Uniforms - Winter Learning Journey

What I had to do for the Winter Learning Journey was that I had to rank the uniforms up to #1 to #3 and what I rank the 2012 uniform was a #1 because It didn't have any designs on it only a olympic logo. For the 2008 I gave it #3 because you could see the big fern so if New Zealand is in the olympic and they see the big fern then they will notice that that's New Zealand because of the fern. For 2004 uniform I gave it a #2 because It's kind of like the 2008 but the fern is only white and black at the background but it still looks cool. It was cool ranking the New Zealand Uniforms.

Running - Winter Learning Journey

Today what I have to do for the Winter Learning Journey was to do my favorite sport and that was running. Why I picked running? Because I want to be a Silver Fern netball player when I grow up. How? If I start Young I'll be better when I grow up and focus on my health. I love to run with my family because it feels like family time and exercise at the same time. That's my reason why I like to run. Also it's good fitness for all of us.

Water Polo - Winter Learning Journey

This is called Water Polo. Water Polo is in one of the Olympic game, Water Polo is similar to soccer but in water. The aim of Water Polo is two teams with 7 players verse each other and so they have to try get a goal and who ever team gets the most then they win. Two rules for Water Polo is 'Players can only use one hand to hold the ball' and Players move the ball by passing to their teammates or swimming with the ball in front of them. What I learned from Water Polo is that when it was the 1900 in Paris only men could play, When it was the 2000 womens went to Sydney to play.

Tom and Vinicius Video Episode #3 - Winter Learning Journey

Today I watched Tom and Vinicius episode #3. This episode was about Tom and Vinicius who were in china, when they were looking at the view then they meet 3 young beautiful girls, they wanted to take photos of Tom and Vinicius. But the 3 young beautiful girls told them to keep moving back and so they did and so they were at the edge of the mountain. From there Tom and Vinicius saw them rowing to another land. And played with them until night, Tom and Vinicius and the 3 young beautiful girls watched the moon until Tom had a great idea and that idea was to let some fireflies go and brighten up the bridge then celebrated and played music with each other.

Tom and Vinicius Video Episode #2 - Winter Learning Journey

Today I watched Tom and Vinicius episode #2. It was about how Tom and Vinicius worked collaboratively to try and find a house to live in. First Vinicius and Tom sleep in a tree and log but they both had bugs, and it didn't feel comfortable. But Vinicius wanted to sleep on top of the tree then Tom didn't want that but instead live in the wate. But Vinicius found a house where It had a tree with water. And so they worked together has a team and built their house.

When they slept in there own new house they felt uncomfortable and slept outside. And that's what it feels like when we move into a new house and it's uncomfortable but we have to get use to it.

Tom and Vinicius Video Episode #1 - Winter Learning Journey

Today I watched Tom and Vinicius episode #1. It was about how Tom and Vinicius meet and they got along, when they meet each other they new that they were friends. That's what happens when we see some one and we think that they're not our friends but when you meet them then they get along well.

Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Logo - Winter Learning Journey

What I done here was, That I created a Olympic Logo. First I went on Designmantic, after that I went to go choose the logo that I wanted. I picked this logo because it looks like everyone is a winner and that they finished the race, even if they came last or first they are still a winner. 

3 Famous Landmarks In New Zealand - Winter Learning Journey

This is one of the famous landmarks in Rio de Janeiro,Brazil. It's called 'Christ Of Redeem'

On here is 3 of the Landmarks. I choose the Sky tower,Lake Taupo and Auckland Harbour Bridge 3 of them are beautiful and wonderful to see. What I like about those 3 are that it's amazing in night and day. Also has and awesome view. What we had to do was that we had to find 3 Famous Landmarks and name them. Where it's located? and in our words Why is it famous?

No Girls Allowed! - Winter Learning Journey

In the Ancient Olympic Games, Mens were allowed to compete each other in every events but for Womens they weren't allowed because Men's thought that Women's/Girls can't do this or that? That rule wasn't fear to the Women's because in the olden days the Women's were like the Men's Slaves. What I thought about this rule wasn't fear because women's can do anything but Men's think that Women's are there slaves.

Which sport will you pick? - Winter Learning Journey

The sport that I will pick out of running,wrestling,boxing,Pankration,Equestrian races,Pentathlon is Running because I like to run also it's good in our health.

It's great to challenge yourself into competing each others in running like cross country or relays. Also running is like everyone's thing or it's fun to run. Mostly people run at night or day.

Leadership by Lynne Le Gros

Yesterday the year 7 & 8 done leadership. The ladies name is Lin Lynne Le Gros. She had told us to write our dreams. And also what we want for New Zealand. My one was to provide food and drinks for the homeless families and people. It was awesome to hear other people's dreams because some were about sports and help each others. For me I leant a lot about leadership and follow my dreams. She gave us a bag,pen,bottle and a booklet. Just want to say thank Lynne for your time and teaching us what we want to be when we grow up and to follow our dreams.

For me I want to become a Silver fern Player and help provide food and drink for my family and also the poor families and couples.

Digi Tech

Today for tech we had to take a photo with a partner/friend. My partner/friend was Jane. What I did was I took a photo of us (Jane and I) and then drag my photo into a photoshop. After that I outlined it and What I had to do was connect the line so when you want to put some  colours into it then it will turn out great but if its not connected then the colour will go everywhere. It was fun doing Digi tech because you get to learn new things and experience things that you haven't done before.
